Updated on 31st March 2020

Dear colleagues, dear students,

At the beginning I would like to thank you all for managing the transition to emergency mode and distance learning, although I realize this is not without difficulty. At the same time I would like to thank you for your patience.
We too often lack information and therefore I fully understand the uncertainty that is omnipresent at the time the situation changes day by day. Therefore let me introduce you the conclusions that have emerged from the discussions of the last few days concerning the organization of studies and the operation of the faculty. I have to say that not everything can be qualified at this point, but I believe that the framework in which we are likely to move forward in the upcoming weeks and months will be clear from the information provided.

ERASMUS, SUMMER PLACEMENTS AND SUMMER SCHOOLS

At this point, it is still anticipated that the Erasmus exchanges will take place in the next semester.
The development of the situation cannot be predicted or guaranteed in any way. The faculty will also open a selection procedure for financial support for students interested in participating in summer schools. However, if a student is not able to attend the summer school he or she will not obtain the financial support. It is recommended to consider participating in the summer school as late as possible, taking into account the above-mentioned exam schedule.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMME ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM
At this point, we expect a possibility which is still to be confirmed, that the selection procedure in form of interview and portfolio presentation will not take place. Students who have applied and paid the fee in time, will be accepted with the condition of delivery the bachelor degree before enrolment.

TUITION FEES
Rector´s office issued statement regarding tuition fees. The fees must be assessed at this time. However, the Rector has the possibility to waive the fees at the request and the Rector declared his will to do so. According to the latest reports, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is also preparing a regulation that should address this issue. PROBLEMS WITH THE CLASSES AND PRESENCE AT CLASSES
Starting from 26.3.2020 a survey „Continuous Evaluation of Distance Learning“ was open in Studis, where students could comment on the state of distance learning of individual subjects. We are currently evaluating the survey and problems will be solved with teachers individually. If  a student has specific problems (quarantine, technical difficulties, etc.) or is otherwise unable to attend distance learning, they should follow the Dean´s decision and contact the Vice-Dean for study matters Mr. |Foretník or Mrs. Havlová

EXCEPTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
At the initiative of senator Ms.Diana Hodulíková, we are currently examining what legitimate support and under what conditions the faculty or BUT is able to provide to students in need.
