FA BUT graduates received awards at the exhibition of diploma theses

During the award ceremony of the 21st year of the Diploma Thesis Exhibition, recent graduates of the Faculty of Architecture at BUT were also awarded, who attracted a professional jury with their diploma projects.

A jury composed of experts awarded an honorable mention to Blanka Štuříková for her project Projective Space: Cemetery without Graves, which was created in the Kristek - Sedlák studio.
The author herself states that the essence of the design lies in the use of the principle of spatial collage as a method of creating an environment which, due to its ambiguity, allows individual interpretation by the individual and evokes memories. The cemetery landscape is intentionally composed as a biodiversity landscape, and in connection with the choice of native species of plants and trees in the Czech Republic, it provides livelihoods for the maximum number of animal species, making the area beneficial to its wider environment in terms of ecological stability.

The award was also given to Jan Urbášek for his design of the Roman Catholic church, incl. associated operational functions in Brno Kohoutovice and its connection to the complex urban context on the border of rural development and housing estates. The work entitled Brno Kohoutovice, Sacrum was created in the studio of Josef Kizska.
