Architecture students help analyze the problems and opportunities of municipalities. This time in Velké Nemčice


Velké Němčice, another of the municipalities that used the potential young architects and thus gained an unbiased professional view of their situation. On based on the results of cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture, they can continue with the solution problems and improve spaces in their village. In return, students get to real situations and prepare for their own practice.

The Faculty of Architecture holds the position of a professional independent institution and offers its services to municipalities. Students under under the guidance of experienced teachers, very often practicing architects, they process analysis, they look for problems and find their solutions. From the perspective of independents experts are able not only to name the problems, but also to check the current state and the situation and consider realistic options. The goal of cooperation is to help municipalities in solving various, sometimes seemingly unsolvable, problems. Students hereby by way of cooperation, they can look under the lid of the village system and get valuables experiences.

This way of cooperation with issued, among others, the municipality of Velké Němčice, the local representative on this possibility pointed out the graduate of the faculty Ing. architect Petra Kopečková. Students first analyzed the township and subsequently proposed a concrete solution for the selected parcels. Projects it was preceded by the creation of a Strategic Plan for sustainability and possible development headquarters, from which several specific topics suitable for more detailed elaboration.

Among the goals of Velké Němčice is housing solutions for the elderly citizens, and therefore one of the projects dealt with this very topic, the result is a proposal for senior housing that meets the standards of the 21st century. Next of the projects focuses on the historical center of Greater Germany, specifically on restoration of the buildings of the cultural center, cinema and municipal office. Among the topics covered it also includes a sports and recreation area with a bathing biotope and tourist areas shelters, transformations of public spaces including the design of furniture elements or revitalization of the castle building.

The design of the multi-functional lookout tower by students Pavla Mičková, Petry Hobzová and Dominika Richnavská were so impressed in the vineyards that the municipality would like this project in the future realized. “They want to respect the character of the landscape. From these reasons we chose wood as the material for our building. We are at the proposal they were based on the circular shape as an imaginary symbol of unification/association residents of Němčice, winemakers and other visitors”, the authors remind project.

The whole collaboration was ended with an exhibition of projects that offered an insight into the development possibilities of the township Velké Němčice as seen by the students of the Faculty of Architecture BUT in Brno, one from the top rated schools of architecture. You can see it at the exhibition design of a cultural center, cycle path, housing for seniors, sports complex, of a public square, a residential area or the conversion of a local castle and others projects that were created under the guidance of doc. Ing. architect Karel Havliš and Ing. sheet. Vítězslav Nového.
