AS FA BUT statement - support for the Hour of Truth protest initiative
The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture accepted at its field meeting 25.3.-26.3. resolution expressing support for the Hour of Truth protest initiative and support for the statement of the Czech Rectors' Conference and subsequently formulated the Declaration of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture BUT in Brno on protest initiatives on March 28, 2023 and underfunding of public higher education.
The financial situation not only of humanities faculties is in a long-term state of underfunding, as representatives of the academic community of the Faculty of Architecture BUT in Brno, knowing that architecture is an intersection between artistic, technical and social sciences, we perceive the non-systemic funding of a whole range of other fields of public higher education with qualitatively comparable parameters, and therefore we join the protests not only by making a statement, but also by meeting with our students and academic staff, tomorrow 28 March 2023 in the school's front garden, from 12.00 to 13.00, we will devote ourselves to a debate on the current situation of underfunding of public universities.
