Competition: URBAN DESIGN AWARD 2026

We are now calling for students who have made a cool urban project in the design studios of the European universities (in the school season 2025/2026). Deadline for applications is 28th February 2026. 

In the contest, projects of semestral or bachelor's, which are signed as urbanistic projects in the academic year 2025/2026, can apply. Master's diploma projects cannot be accepted in the contest!

We would like to ask you to prepare:
  • a portfolio in PDF (prepared for printing in A3 format, max. 15 pages) and some typical images,
  • minimal scale of work: Main drawing – scheme of design, resp. principal of solution, relevant situation (clearly distinguish proposal from analysis), spatial documentation (perspectives, axonometries).
About the competition
The Urban Design Award competition is announced annually by the FA ČVUT in Prague with the main partner of the Association for Urbanism and Spatial Planning of the Czech Republic. The competition is open to all full-time students of the co-organizing universities (except for the diploma project) from Visegrad 4 countries. The competition proposals are evaluated by an international jury composed mainly of architects and urban planning experts working outside the academic environment. The competition works are thus confronted with the practice in the field of urbanism and spatial planning. The partners of the competition are national associations of urban planners (AUUP ČR, MUT, TUP, ZUUPS).

The contest is open for all students who have created a studio semester work in a given academic year registered as an urban development project. Master's diploma projects cannot be entered into the competition.
