More about the MOPGA Award:
The Make Our Planet Great Again Award for environmental and climate research is organized by the Embassy of France in the Czech Republic in collaboration with BNP Paribas. The award aims to recognize outstanding research by Czech students in the fields of climate change, the environment, and sustainable development.
Winners receive financial support, and the top two laureates are also offered the opportunity to undertake a research internship in France.
The awards are presented during a reception held at the French Embassy in Prague, at the Buquoy Palace, chaired by Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, and the Ambassador.
Make Our Planet Great Again is an initiative launched by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on June 1, 2017, following the decision of the United States to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. It calls on researchers and academics, entrepreneurs, associations and NGOs, students, and civil society as a whole to mobilize and join France in the fight against global warming.
The initiative has also created new scientific opportunities and challenges for researchers.
